LADIES’ HOCKEY
ELTHAM TOURNAMENT. LOCAL TEAM DOES WELL. Eighteen teams from all parts of Taranaki participated in the ladies’ hockey tournament held at Eltham yesterday for the Gower Oup. The Opunake gjrls did exceptionally well registering a win, a dra-w and a loss. By a coincidence the Pihama team show similar results,, these being :—• No. 1 Ground Opunake 1 beat Auroa 0, Miss Baylis scoring. Inglewood 2 beat Pihania 1, Miss 31 .Conaglen scoring for the losers. No. 2 Ground. Stratford 2 beat Opunake 0. Opunake 0, Oeo A 0. Filming 0 drew with New Plymouth No. 3 Ground. Pihania 3 beat Waitara 0. Goals were scored by 31 is sea P. Templeton and 31. Conaglen (2). In tbif final .Inglewood defeated Eltham.
