Mr. John T. Brown, M.A.
The above-named gentleman is advertised to speak on Tuesday next at Opunake on no-license. He has, we are informed, visited every place of interest in the United States, and is renowned there for the lectures in which he pictures the majestic scenes. Though a young man, he has had large experience as an editor, preacher, author and lecturer. A novel entitled “ Bruce Norman,” whichhe published, has reached its third edition, and he has since published “ The Guest of a Dream, or a Changed Life.” Numerous testimonials are given to his power as a speaker in pathos and humor. Most favorable reports of Mr Brown as a speaker haye been received from Auckland, Gisborne, and Napier, A telegram from Gisborne on November 15 says :—“ Packed audiences for Mr J. T. Brown’s meeting every night.” In New Zealand he has, at the request of the New Zealand Alliance, consented to lecture on “ The truth about Prohibition in the United States.”
