The Railway Fatality.

New York, June 28. Details of the accident to the New York Chicago express show that an express known as “ The Twentieth Century, Limited, ” found a switch looked at Menton. The engine left the track, and fell into a ditch ; the first combination oar was derailed and caught fire from the engine, the next crashed into the station, which collapsed on top of the wrecked coach, terribly crushing and maiming the passengers. The remaining cars escaped. The boiler of the engine burst, horribly scalding the passengers in the combination oar. Twenty-four persons were killed and forty injured. It is intended to revert to the 20hour instead of the 18-bour time-table, though the authorities declare that the fastest trains are perfectly safe if the switches are not tampered with.
