Like many others, however, in the ups and downs of colonial life he lo3t everything and had several times to start afresh. He was a man whomever kuew what it was to be beaten. He was previous to his residence of fifteen years on the Plains about 3ix years in Feilding in the sawmilling line, and with Mr Palmer with whom Mr Parkas he has been in partnership for the greater part of that time. Nine years ago ho lost his wife in Feilding. Deceased leaves three children Mrs Palmer and Miss Brooker, and one t.on, Mr Thomas Brooker, to moirn their loss.
