Bringing Things to a Head.
The friction between the milk suppliers of the Messrs Bobbins and Pierard's Dairy Factory, Eltbam Road, in reference to the deductions from the month's cheques, appears to have now reached a climax, and the firm or their representative were expected to attend a meeting of milk suppliers this (Wednesday) morning at the factory, when tbe wfcole question of payment by rereaolts, mode of testing, &c, was to be gone into and fully discussed. A number of the milk suppliers have expressed their firm determination to take their milk elsewhere unless matters are satisfactory adjusted. In some cases the deductions amounted to £2 off the month's cheque, and a considerable amount of bitter feeling has been engendered in consequence! It is to be hoped that the meeting will result in a pacific adjustment of all existing differences, in the interests of both proprietors and milk suppliers. It would be better that in cases of this kind proper agreements were drawn up and signed by all parties concerned, as is done in a good many factories, as that system of working should place matters on a more satisfactory footing, and prevent misunderstandings of this nature referred to, and which, unfortunately, have now culminated in the unpleasant manner described above.— Egmont Post.
