Opunake Cricket Club.
A meeting of the Cricket Club was held on Saturday evening. Mr Wagstaff reported attending the meeting of delegates. The rules, as agreed to, fire to be printed, and a copy forwarded to each club. Messrs G. Bayly, Heenan, and J. Wagstaff were elected a selection committee for “ rep ” matches. Mr D. N. Scott’s account, £1 17s, was passed for payment. Resolved, That Mr Knobhs he employed to mow the pitch. Resolved, That a lawn mover be obtained at a cost of 4Gs, Major Trike agreeing to pay half the cost, providing ho had the use of it. Resolved, That the secretary communicate with New Plymouth regarding the promised match ou the 9th November.
Resolved, That the opening match he played on Saturday, October 20th, between teams representing married and single. Resolved, That subscriptions be paid prior to any member playing in a match.
Resolved, That the captain and vice-captain be authorised to collect lunch subscriptions on the ground. Resolved, That Messrs Wagstaff, Edmonds, and Stewart be a match committee. Tire preoldcut offered a hat for the best ba’t ng average in all matches for «he c isou.
