Education Board.
The Education Board met on Wednesday. Present: Miss Heywood, Messrs B. G. Bauchope (chairman), Faull, Wade, Allsworth, McKay, * Adlam, and Hill. APPOINTMENTS. Miss Barron was appointed assistant teacher in the Opunake School, Mrs Spalding sewing teacher to the Warea School, and Miss G. Pearce pupil teacher in the Central School, Mr L. Bell was also appointed a cadet at the Okato School. NAME CHANGED. It was resolved that the name of the school district known as the Egmont School District be changed to the Kent Road School District. WAIPUKU SCHOOL. The Board decided that Miss F. Worm be transferred from Norfolk Boad to the Waipuku School. An amendment, that Mrs Heenan be appointed to the school, was lost on the voices. PUPIL TEACHERS. The appointment of pupil teachers at the Cardiff Boad and Norfolk Boad Schools jvasJeft-witbTthe chairman. RESIGNATION. Miss Clark's resignation as sewing teacher in the Okato School was accepted, to take effect on 25th October. BIRD BOAD SCHOOL. Miss Weaver was appointed teacher in the Bird Boad School, as recommended by the committee. STRATFORD SCHOOL. The Stratford Committee forwarded a resolution pointing out that the attendance warranted the appointment of another teacher, and recommending Miss Beed ; also drawing attention to the want of ventilation in the infants' room. The letter was referred to the Inspector and Architect to report on. APPOINTMENT OF INSPECTOR. The conditions of appointment of Inspector as drafted and submitted by the committee, were adopted. FITZROY. The Architect was instructed to attend the fencing at Fitzroy, as stated in his report. ACCOUNTS. Accounts, amounting to £846 Os lid were passed for payment.—News.
