McCrae, the New South Wales athelete, who is at present in America, ran half a mile in New York in lmin 593 cc. He has matches on with the leading pedestrians. W. Hutton, of Queensland, claims the amateur pole vault of Australia with 10ft 9in. The ten miles amateur championship of England was decided at the Huddersfield C. and A.C. sports en April 28th, when Bix started. S. Thomas, the winner, did the distance in Slmin 37sec. This is the fourth time Thomas has won this event. 0. A. Bradley, the English amateur sprinter, was in rare form at the Essex Beagles sports on April 28th. He ran 120yds in 12 l-sth sec in his heat, 12sec in the second round, and 11 4-sth sec in the final. He won the 100yds in 10 l-6th sec at the same meeting.
