BASKETBALL
OPENING OF SEASON * The basketball season commenced in Opotiki on Saturday at the school, when a knock-out tournament was held and the final match was played between 11. S. “A” and Old Girls New, the latter winning the match. Afternoon tea was provided and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent. The first matches of the round will be played on Saturday next, the draw being as follows: — Senior 11. S. A v. O.G. New. Hospital v. O.G. Old. 11.5. v. St. Mary’s B. St. Mary’s A. a bye. lvio Toa v. O.M-P. Junior 11.5. 0. v. St. Mary’s Primary.
