A plain and fancy dress social in the Criterion Theatre on Wednesday evening celebrated the grand finale of the Red Cross Campaign. Jt was "an ideal night for dancing, that, perhaps, helping to make the social the success it was. The theatra was patriotically decorated for the occasion and showed that considerable time had been spent on it.
The knowledge that the juvenile queen was to be announced during the evening caused keen excitement. On the stage some' interested spectators surrounded the blackboard on which was being recorded the positions of the young queens.
The Grand March" was led by Mrs Reid, and Mr Arch. White, following came the small queens and their
parents,
