BANISHES THE UNDERSKIRT
AND LEADS TO A STRIKE

Owing to the popularity of the hobble skirt lessening the demand for underskirts, a number of girls employed by the Brook Manufacturing Company, Northampton, were given other work.
They struck, and the company has now locked out all its 1200 employees.
