Holy Places In Jerusalem BELGIAN PROPOSAL APPROVED NZPA—Copyright Rec. 6 p.m. NEW YORK, Dec. 13. A Belgian resolution for a United Nations committee to deal with the Jerusalem problem was approved by the Special Political Committee today. This called for four United Nations representatives to consult with the Jordan and Israeli governments, and religious bodies to ensure the effective protection of holy places. The vote was 30 to 18, with 11 abstentions. New Zealand and Australia were among the countries in opposition. The vote did not gain the two-thirds majority needed for the General Assembly’s approval.
