NO APPOINTMENT

Micro-biology Chair No appointment is to be made to the chair of micro-biology at the Medical School in the meantime. Instead,, the University Council intends to advertise for a senior lecturer, who must have a medical degree and be competent in the field of medical bacteriology. This was stated in a letter from the council, which was received by the Otago Hospital Board last night. “ This board is interested in only one point,” said Dr N. H. North. “Will there be an efficient bacteriological service for the hospital? ” “Yes. If they pay enough. I am holding out for a man with a good routine bacteriological knowledge—but, of course, I have only one vote,’ said Dr A. S. Moody.
