RIVERS REPORT
Pomahaka Presents Good Prospects
The telegraphic river reports received by the Otago Acclimatisation Society yesterday disclose that the Mataura River is high, but falling fast. This indicates that it should be in good order for the week-end. The Wyndham River is also falling, but is still slightly discoloured, and will, no doubt, clear up for the week-end. The Mimihau is in good order. The Waipahi River is clear and in perfect order for fly fishing. The report on the Pomahaka River from the Clydevale district indicates that the river is clear, but slightly up. The Owaka and Catlins Rivers are reported to be clear and in perfect order, and the Shag River is also in good order. The weather is reported to be fine in all districts, with slight winds. The best prospects for the week-end appear to be the Catlins and Pomahaka Rivers.
