NIGHTLY DEVOTIONS

Religion A Vital Force

PA WELLINGTON, Dec. 13. Throughout his illness Mr Fraser and the Minister of the Kelburn Presbyterian Church, the Rev. W. J. Pellow, had nightly devotions together until last Friday. Yesterday, when the minister was called soon after 1 p.m., they again took part in them together. Mr Pellow said that all through his illness Mr Fraser never lost his grip of things. Only last Friday, said Mr Pellow, he had talked for 20 minutes on his dealings with Mr Churchill. Religion was extraordinarily vital to Mr Fraser all through his life, and particularly in his last weeks. Mr Fraser was an adherent and generous sup'porter of the Kelburn Presbyterian Church, as Mrs Fraser had also been. He was well grounded in the Scripture and the Catechism. He never forgot his intimate knowledge of these, and they were of great value in his last days.
