Councils Of Empire PA CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 13. “The death of Mr Fraser comes as a heavy blow to the whole public life of New Zealand, as well as to his personal friends and comrades,” said Archbishop West-Watson. “His steadfast courage and leadership during the tragic years of war were a sustaining force to our purpose and perseverance. _ “ Mr Fraser’s reputation as an international politician continually grew until he became an eminent figure in the councils of the Empire. His opinion was valued and sought after. His utterances on world affairs were inspired by high and noble principles and made men of all parties proud that they were uttered by a Prime Minister of New Zealand.
“As the years pass and history .views the past in respective, surely Mr Fraser will find his place as one of those rare outstanding leaders and counsellors of whom New Zealand may be gratefully proud.”
