SOLENT DIVERTED

PA WELLINGTON, Dec. 7. The TEAL Solent flying boat from Sydney was unable to land at Evans Bay this morning because the wind was considered too strong. The Solent arrived over Wellington at 6.45 a.m. and made several runs over the city, including one at 100 ft above Evans Bay, and then headed for Auckland. There were 36 passengers on board. The diversion is the first one since the Wellington-Sydney service was inaugurated two months ago.
