ROXBURGH INQUIRY

Sitting Completed SOME MATTERS SETTLED The special committee set up by the Minister of Works, Mr Goosman, to consider the claims of the workers which led to the recent strike at the Roxburgh Gorge hydro-electric works completed its sitting yesterday afternoon. After the meeting representatives of the Ministry of Works and the workers met to prepare a joint statement on the hearing. This was not available last night. It is understood, however, that some of the matters in dispute were settled by the committee but others will have to be given further consideration. The committee left Roxburgh yesterday afternoon to inspect the hydroelectric works at Tekapo.
