TOTALISATOR PERMITS

Further Allocation PA WELLINGTON, Dec. 7. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Bodkin, stated today that after discussions had been held with members of the Racing and Trotting Conferences .with regard to the allocation of the additional totalisator permits for which provision had been made in the recent legislation amending the Gaming Act, he had given his authority for licences to be issued to the Eastern Southland Hunt Club, the Maramarua Hunt Club, the Franklin Racing Club (two days), the Stratford Racing Club, the Cambridge Picnic Racing Club, the Bay of Plenty Trotting Club, the Wellington Trotting Club (two days), the Thames Trotting Club and the Te Awamutu Trotting Club. Mr Bodkin said he had not disposed of all the permits for which Legislative authority had been granted, but early in the new year he would have further discussions and arrange for the issue of the remaining nine days.
