KOREAN CONFLICT
Sir,—Hearkening back to the Abyssinian campaign, the one before the Second Great War, I seem to recollect an outcry of public opinion regarding the Italian bombing of the comparatively defenceless Ethiopians. The same outcry is being voiced noW', but with a difference. Democracy in the shape of Super-For-tresses mainly flown by Americans, is hailed as a deliverer from Communism. I feel that the average person is sickened by the stream of reports on this saturation bombing, whether it be directed on North • Koreans or North X, and also the American propaganda is weak in the extreme, as many returned men will readily agree. The immense profits made from lease-lend show that the Americans have always made the world safe for themselves before any thoughts of democracy; and please, I am not a Communist.—l am, etc., 322521.
