ANTI-COMMUNIST BILL

Sir, —Mr lan Jamieson is getting excited about the Anti-Communist Bill now being introduced into the Australian House of Representatives. If he is so convinced that Communism will flourish in spite of all setbacks, might I ask him what he has to worry about? I think, Sir, Mr Jamieson’s excitement should prove to all the well-meaning people who race round New Zealand prattling freedom. and hands off the Communists, how ill-considered their judgment has been. If this policy could only help the Communists (as we have been told so frequently it will), may I ask why the Communist Party is fighting Mr Menzies so hard?—l am. etc.. Wake-up.

Sir, —After reading the very intolerant letter by Mr lan Jamieson, I am thoroughly in favour of tne Anti-Communist Bill being introduced by Mr Menzies. It seems that there is nothing ahead of us but another world war. This is a horrible prospect, but perhaps, it would be better to die fighting than live as the slaves of Communism. What has Communism ever done anyhow? Where other people build business and provide work for men and women and serve their country in some way or other, the Communists can only interfere with violence, making workers lose wages and countries lose revenue. In conclusion, I wish to say that I am using a pen name just in case Mr Jamieson should want to visit me. We like peace in our home!—l am. etc.. Kick Them All Out.
