Saturday was the twenty-first anniversary of the annual match between the North Otago and South Canterbury Bowling Centres for the Murray Bowl. South Canterburv had won the trophy 11 times and North Otago 10. The match was played at Timaru, and was won. by North Otago by 190 points to 184. Results (North Otago names first):— Keen 25. Plumer 26; Mursell 22, Wilson 20' Robertson, jun., '25, Milne 19; Hunter 33, Walmsley 30; Currie 24. Clark 19; Atkinson 13, Nichol 25: Adams 28, Healey 22; Murray 20, Hanning 23. Maheno held its annual " flour ” day at Phoenix on Saturday. Both greens were occupied. Results:— No. 1 Green.—Richardson 3 losses. Wedde 2 wins, Miller 2, Lindsay 1, T. Wright 2, Ketchen 3 losses, Jeffery 2 wins, Watts 2, L. Wright 2, Todd 1, T. N. Mitchell 2, Cagney 1, J. M. Brown 2, Coulter 3. Section winner: Coulter. No. 2 Green.—Turnbull 2 wins, Wilson 1. Tait 3, Burgess 1, Craig 2, J. Reid 3, T. Crisp 3 losses, Ferguson 3. Watson 2 wins, J. Mulligan 1, Hurst 2, Jamieson 1. Section tie: Tait and Reid. In the play-off, Edwards, Eccles, Stevenson and Reid beat Shirkey, Chambers, L. Mulligan and Coulter, and in the final Williams, Cossens, D. Richardson and Tait beat Reid’s team.
