* NZPA—Copyright Rec. 11 p.m. NEW YORK, Apl. 17. A man in Pullman, Washington, today shot and killed three policemen and a taxi driver before he was surrounded and riddled with bullets. He was George Mclntyre, owner of an electrical store. The police said Mclntyre was wanted for stabbing a man in a fight earlier in the day. When a policeman went to arrest him, Mclntyre drew a g\m and shot him dead. He then grabbed the policeman’s baton, clubbed him over the head, and began a frenzied death prowl which lasted 100 minutes.

Word of the shooting spread through the town. Terrified mothers swept their children off the streets as Mclntyre was reported to be shooting at anything that moved. Scores of residents armed themselves with shot guns, rifles and pistols and joined the police in the hunt for the killer. The posse converged on Mclntyre’s house, but he sent a fussilade of shots into them, and then made a mad clash from the house. A running battle followed along railway lines and into scrub. Two more nolicemen and a taxi driver member of the posse fell dead as Mclntyre fought back in desperation. Exhausted, Mclntyre staggered into a gully where _ the posse surrounded him and shot him dead.
