FREE KINDERGARTEN
PROPOSAL FOR ROSLYN ORGANISING COMMITTEE FORMED An interim committee to organise a Free Kindergarten for Roslyn was elected at a public meeting held in the Bible Class Hall of the Roslyn Presbyterian Church last night. The committee will serve until the kindergarten is established and then a women’s committee will be formed The Rev. L. Jones presided. . It was agreed that there was a need for a Free Kindergarten to serve Roslyn, and the committee was authorised to prepare circulars explaining the proposal for distribution in the district. It was estimated that £3OO would be needed to establish the kindergarten. The Bible Class Hall was to be used, subject to the approval of the Church Court, and it would require alterations before being suitable for use. An appeal for funds is to be made. , .. . ~ The Rev Mr Jones reported that the Kindergarten Association would probably be able to provide staff by the time the kindergarten had been formed. Elected to the interim committee were: Mrs S. H. Botting, chairwoman; Mr A. J. Reid, secretary and treasurer; Mesdames E. A Sell and W. W. Jamieson, Mr M. K. Nelson and the Rev. L. Jones.
