FALL INTO STREAM
YOUNG CHILD DROWNED PA NELSON, Mar. 28.
Wandering away from her home in Motupipi road, Takaka, yesterday afternoon, a 20-months-old child fell into a nearby stream and was drowned. She was Cynthia Solly, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Solly, of Takaka. Mr Solly is a seaman on the steamer Rata. At about 4 15 yesterday afternoon the phild was missed by her mother. A search was instituted and the child was found lying in the Motupipi Stream. Dr E. C. Bydder was called and applied artificial respiration for about three-quarters of an hour, but without success.
