COASTAL SHOWERS The official weather forecast issued by the Government Meteorologist in Wellington is:— Situation.—Depressions cover the south and central Tasman. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Fresh westerly winds, with a few coastal showers at first, but weather mainly fair and mild. Except for rain early yesterday morning, Dunedin had a fine week-end. Saturday was brilliantly fine, with lOhr 12min of sunshine, and temperatures ranged between 57deg and 64deg The rain recorded for the 24-hour period ended at 9.30 a.m. was 0.15 in. There was a light wind from the east. Yesterday there was a strong north-east wind, but this changed to the south-west late in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 65.8 deg and the minimum 54.3 deg. The sun shone for 2hr 48min. The barometer reading at midnight was 29.75 in.
