MANIOTOTO Special to Daily Times. RANFURLY, Dec. 19. Cricket. Two centuries were scored in the Maniototo cricket competition on Saturday, the games being played in fine weather. D. J. Blakely scored his fourth century in succession when he made 103 against Patearoa B. In the same match G. R. McSkimming made 120. J. C. Kearney was responsible for the best bowling performance; his splendid length and deadly accuracy earning him the fine figures of seven for 12 off 12 overs, five of which were maidens.

In an interesting game, Ranfurly A won the Greer Cup from the holders, Becks. Kearney’s good bowling disposed of Becks for 64, and Ranfurly passed this total with four wickets in hand. The game was not without its thrills, as the first Ranfurly wicket fell with only one run on the board, but 56 had been scored before the next fell. With nine runs required, four mpre batsmen were disposed of with the addition of three runs. Details:—Patearoa B 222 for nine wickets (declared) (R. McSkimming 120, J. Mathias 17, Johnston 18, G. Hyde, 148 (C. Rennie .29, T. Rennie 26, McGill 14, Patterson '22, Provan two for 55, Evans five for 47) beat Naseby, 140 (McKenzie 53, D. Provan 48, Knowles 10, Paterson three for 70, T. Rennie four for 26). Oturehua, 168 for 8 wickets (Anderson 20, V. Barber 20 retired, R. McKnight 57, Lott 12, Upston 25, J. Mulholland two for 55, O. Lynch three for 40, Watson two for 22), beat Ranfurly B. 158 (Arbuckle 22, Romeril 29, Mulholland G 4, D. Provan 11, E. Murphy 16, Lott one for 60. McKnight four for 33, Arthur three for 23).
