THE SOUTHERN CEMETERY

Sir, —Just now, at the Southern Cemetery, the grass on the footpaths is knee high. This is a great hardship for relatives and friends visiting the graves -of their dear ones, and it would be a great boon if the grass was cut at least on the footpaths. Trusting this will be found possible in the near future..—l am, etc.. Hoping. [The chairman of the Reserves Committee of the City Council, Cr Jolly, stated in reply to this letter that the department’s staff was engaged in cutting grass in the city area and the Southern Cemetery would receive attention as soon as possible.—Ed.
