BOYS’ CRICKET TEAMS

CONGRATULATIONS ON WINS Returning from Christchurch by express yesterday, two teams representing the Otago Boys’ Cricket Association which won the “ double ” against Canterbury for the first time since the interprovincial matches were begun 23 years ago, were met at the Dunedin station by Cr D. -C. Jolly, Mr D. A. Solomon, president of the Otago Cricket Association, and officials of the Boys’ Association. ~ Cr Jolly, who represented the City Council, congratulated the boys on their double victory, saying that it was a very creditable performance to beat the Canterbury teams on their home grounds. He hoped the win would spur them on to greater achievements on the cricket field. Mr Solomon also congratulated the boys, whose manager, Mr R. H. Oxley, replied.
