SUPER FLIGHT FANCIED IN TAPANUI HANDICAP

Special to the Daily Times INVERCARGILL, Dec. 16. The Tapanui Racing Club’s annual meeting at Gore on Saturday will mark the opening of the southern holiday racing circuit. There has been heavy rain during the week, but a strong wind this afternoon has had a drying effect and prospects are that the' track will provide good going. Four events are down to be run in divisions, but the Quin Memorial Handicap will not be divided. Aldis Lamp will not start in the Tapanui High-weight, and Gunther’s mission will be the Tapanui Handicap. Horses in form include:— 11.45: Tapanui High-weight Handicap —First division: Night Fighter, Royal Lark. Second division: Queen Argosy. Bridgehead. 12.30: Trial Handicap.—First division: Castle Bar, Balmoral. Second division: Maungarea, Narrow View. 1.15: Mclntyre Handicap Trot.—First division: Quick Trick, Tall Boy. Second division: Amarant, Shadova.

2.0: Tapanui Handicap.—Super Flight, Gunther, Aganev. * 2.45: Dwyer Memorial Hack Handicap —Mount Barker, Prawns, Bonny Royal. 3.30: Fassifern Trot Handicap.—Shadova.
