REVOLTE LEADS THROUGHOUT Special to the. Daily Times CHRISTCHURCH. Oct. 17. The outstanding feature of the Geraldine meeting was the all-the-way win of Revolte in the Cup. He drew clear of the field soon after the start, and with half the journey covered Avonbridge, Renege, Shenandoah, Royal Sal and Bren Gun followed him, while Graeme and Clyde Bridge were improving their positions. Shenandoah retired two furlongs further on. and turning for home Royal Sal was clear in second place, with Bren Gun, Renege, Graeme and Clyde Bridge next. Revolte held his place in front without any trouble, beating Bren Gun by»three lengths. Graeme was a length away, while Rival Chase finished fast, beating Renege and Clyde Bridge for fourth. This was Revolte’s first glimpse of form since last March. Whitley Connaught and The Hob made the pace ‘in the Squatters’ Handicap. Whitley led the other pair to the straight, after which Whitley weakened. The Hob then took charge and beat Connaught decisively, while Chellow Dene finished fast, cutting Whitley out of third place.
