Mr Justice Kennedy will return from Wellington this afternoon after presiding at the Appeal Court session. Superintendent C. Harley, who has been transferred from • Auckland to take charge of the Otago police district, has arrived in Dunedin.
A gilt was presented to the Registrar, Mr G. Stratton, at the annual meeting of the Otagd Justices’ Association, in appreciation of his services during the Dominion conference of justices held earlier this year. Delegates to the New Zealand Harbour Boards’ Association conference being held in Dunedin visited Waipori yesterday as the guests of the Otago Harbour Board. The party, which travelled by bus. numbered about 70. The conference will resume this morning, and finish in the early afternoon. Advice has been received that Mr. A. P. A. Mathieson, who was elected president of the Otago Branch- of the Royal New Zealand Life Saving Society at'the annual meeting of the society last night, has been awarded a bronze star to the Distinguished Service Medal which he won nine years ago for his services to the society.
