THE OLYMPIC GAMES

Sir,—lt was interesting to read the comments of the new Olympic film by your sports editor in your issue of Wednesday. According to your contributor, the film has discarded the close-up and slowmotion shots that were a feature of the German production of the last Olympic film. I for one am extremely glad that such is the case and will look forward to seeing the film with much more satisfaction than otherwise. In the previous Olympiad film the slow-motion photography was overdone in my opinion, especially in the high diving, which tended to become monotonous and wearisome. The film, I believe, takes two hours and a-half to screen. The time would be considerably lengthened had slow-motion shots been introduced.—l am, etc.. Interested.
