CRIMINAL OFFENCES IN COOK ISLANDS

P.A. WELLINGTON, Oct. 14. The Cook Islands Amendment Bill, introduced in the House of Representatives to-day, provides a penalty of five years’ imprisonment with hard labour for the unlawful entry of a dwelling house by night with intent to commit a criminal offence or for being found by night in any dwelling house without lawful justification. A similar penalty is prescribed for threats to do bodily harm. Another removes the limit of £1 a week on maintenance orders.
