BURMA SEEKS COMPENSATION FOR WAR DAMAGE

Burma is claiming from Britain a free grant for war damages compensation not less than the sum Britain gave to Malaya. The British Government agreed in April to contribute £10,000,000 towards war damage compensation in Malaya, and to stand behind the Malayan Government up to a maximum additional liability of £35,000,000.
