Wedding With Nursing And Hunting Interests

A wedding of interest to the nursing and hunting public which took place recently in the Musselburgh Presbyterian Church, was that of Shirley Robina Newlands, only daughter of Mr and Mrs R. H. Gurbutt, Musselburgh, and John Campbell. eldest son of Mr and Mrs E. C. Coutts, Waikouaiti. White cloque was the material chosen for the graceful bridal gown, which featured a heart-shaped neckline and a fitting hip-length bodice. The long veil of white tulle edged with bobbin lace fell from a tulle headband embroidered with pearls. The bride's only jewellery was a five-tier string of pearls. The bridesmaids were Miss Jean Haugh (Ngapara) and Miss Anita Cuttle. They wore silk floral frocks with velvet trimming and velvet headbands held with feather flowers. Mr Hector Coutts (Waitati) was the best man and Mr Leslie Holland was groomsman. The reception was held at the Crawford Lounge and guests were reccved b' Mr and Mrs R. H. Garbutt, Mr E. C. Coutts and Mrs Johnston. Mrs Garbutt wore a royal blue suit with black accessories, and a black picture hat. Both she and Mrs Johnston wore sprays of white freesias. '
