SUITABILITY OF EVANS BAY FLYING BOAT TERMINAL P.A. WELLINGTON, June 8. The Minister of Civil Defence. Mr Jones, said that no definite proposal had come before him for a flying boat base at Evans Bay, Wellington, when Solent class flying boats were eventually operating between Australia and New Zealand. He was unable to say whether changes in flying boat types or meteorological and other data gathered over the years supported the suitability of Evans Bay as a base. In the past that location had been ruled out by experts.
