WOOL CLASSING
COMPETITIONS CONCLUDED The wool-classing competitions were concluded yesterday. The judge was Mr J. McGregor, of Mosgiel. Results:— First-year Class.—M. Moore (100 points) 1, J. Elliott and M. Brosnan (96), equal, 2, G. G. Smith (88) highly commended, J. G. Todd (84) commended. Open Class.—M. Moore and M. Brosnan (96 points), equal, 1; E. B. Williamson and A. S. Harris (92), equal, 3, P. Birley, J. Elliott, J. G. Todd, G. G. Smith and C. Griffin (88) highly commended. The Watson Shennan Memorial Cup, for the highest points in open wool-classing, was won by M. Moore with 192 points. M. Brosnan (180) was second, and J. Elliott, E. B. Williamson and J. G. Todd (176) were equal in third place. The Ross and Glendining special prize, for the best aggregate in first-year classes, was won by M. Moore, with 192 points. J. Elliott (188) was second, and M. Brosnan and G. G. Smith (172) third equal.
