Gloucester secured an easy win over Somerset, as did Glamorgan over Worcester. Washbrook and W. Edrich were prominent scorers in the respective games. Results:— Gloucester: First innings 522 (Crapp 127, Barnett 83, Emmett 71), against Somerset: First 245 (Goddard six for 65): followed on, 219. Gloucester won by an innings and 58 runs. Lancashire: First innings 450 (Washbrook 170, E. Edrich 121, Cranston 71), against Yorkshire: First, 256 (Hutton 100, Pollard five tor 58), followed on five for 177 (Roberts four for 44). The match was drawn. Kent: First innings 256 (Valentine 104), second seven for 310 declared (Ames 104), against Hampshire: First eight for 443 declared (Arnold 126, McCorkell, not out, 153), second eight for 127 (Martin seven for 37. Hampshire won by two wickets. Middlesex: First innings five for 392 declared (Robertson 147, W. Edrich, not out, 128), second two for 220 (Robertson 137), against Sussex: First 156 (Compton four for 54), followed on 455 (Oakes 63, Bartlett 60). Middlesex won by eight wickets. Warwick won by six wickets. Notts won by four wickets.
