HEAVY RAIN IN AUCKLAND

P.A, AUCKLAND, Nov. 30. Farms and gardens throughout the Auckland province, which had become parched, after more than a fortnight without rain, benefltted by heavy rain which fell over a wide area on Saturday. In Auckland* where only 0.57 in had fallen for the month by Friday night, I.Boin fell in the 24 hours ended at midnight on Saturday. Two small slips occurred on the northern railway line between Mangapai and Portland and between Maungaturoto and Paparoa, and there was a washout north of Paparoa, but the services were not delayed and no serious road blocks were reported.
