SATURDAY’S MATCHES In the men’s softball matches played on Saturday the Sargood’s Dynamos defeated the 2nd N.Z.E.F. team by 13 runs to 2. Bears defeated Hillside Dodgers by 14 to 9, and City United 1 secured its first win by defeating 2nd N.Z.E.F. by 16 runs to 4. In the game between Hillside Red Sox and Cardinals. Red Sox showed its supremacy by defeating the Cardinals after a hard game by 14 to 13. Home runs were scored by Hellyer, Mercer and Dowland. At Culling Park the Second Division results were:—Training College defeated Cardinals II by 18 runs to 13; 2nd N.Z.E.F. defeated A.T.C. Spitfires by 25 runs to 16; Hawks defeated Hillside Demons by 22 runs to 17. The umpires were Messrs Fairlie, Thompson, Mann. Meek. Ferguson and McMillan.
