FIRST INNINGS WIN

OLD BOYS BEAT DUNEDIN High School Old Boys declared Its first innings closed with nine wickets down for 255 runs in the match against Dunedin at Logan Park, in which the former had scored 102 for four wickets in response to Dunedin’s 113 on the opening day G H. Mills increased his tally from 52 to 64 before being dismissed, and the brightest batting of the day was shown by A. S. Mills, who after a quiet start went on to make 57 not out, including nine 4’s. J. McConnachie, a young lefthander, making his first appearance in senior cricket, hit four 4’s in a wellcompiled 33. The best bowler for Dunedin was R. A. Algie, slow left-hand, who flighted the ball cleverly and took three wickets for 46 runs. Old Boys was without the services of its captain, A. W. Roberts, on the second day.
