TROTTING NOTES
By the Sporting Sditor November 14, 15 .. Metropolitan T.C. November 22 29 .. Wellington T.C. Jottings The Metropolitan meeting will be continued on Friday (Show Day) and concluded on Saturday. The Winton Trotting Club Handicap will have a stake of £SOO and the class will be 4min 41sec. Needs Barrier Practice Whipster has a nice turn of speed but he nullifies it by failing to begin smartly. Trotting Solidly Casabianca has trotted two solid races at the Cup meeting and should continue to pay his way. Winton Winner Esto Fidelis is a four-year-old mare by Dillon Hall from Miri Rei. by Wellington Direct from Lou Thorpe, by Our Thorpe from Lou Wilkes, by Harold Wilkes. Back to Form In the Mood is right back to her best form and the U. Scott mare may get a share of the stakes attached to the Free-for-All. A Good Dividend The only surprise about Johnnie Lawn’s win on Saturday was the dividend he paid. The fact that he failed to go away in his race on the first day apparently told against him. Blue Horizon In spite of his lengthy absence from the track, Blue Horizon has lost none of his brilliance and the Forbury Park trainer, T. A. Greaney, deserves credit for his condition. The Quite Sure gelding put in a strong finish in the Sockburn Handicap after leaving his feet near home. Six in a Row
The brilliant trotting mare Betty Maxegin has not been beaten since D. Townley leased her from Mrs E. Jamieson late last season. She ’has now had six successive wins. Her 2min 41 3-ssec on the opening day of the Cup meeting was a winning record.
