FIRST CHURCH WEDDING

Bride in Victorian Gown

Arum lilies and white and pink tulips decorated First Church last Saturday afternoon for the marriage of Patricia Lorraine, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs P. Savigny, of Queen’s drive, Musselburgh, and Adam Lauriston, only son of Mrs A G. Scott, of Highcliff road, Anderson's Bay. The ceremony was performed by ■ the Rev. W. A. Stevely. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a graceful Victorian gown of white net and silver lame. The full skirt was caught up in front with tiny arum lilies, and the back fell into a full double train. A coronet of orange blossom and pleated tulle secured her veil of embroidered silk tulle, and she wore long French kid gloves. Her bouquet was of arum lilies, white roses and lily of the valley.

The bridesmaids were Miss Heather Savigny, who wore a frock of pale green stiffened net, and Miss Ngaira Columbus, who wore pale pink stiffened net. The skirts of their frocks featured frills of stiffened net, and the bodices were of silver lame. In their hair they wore ostrich plumes to tone with their frocks, and they carried bouquets of pink and lavender tulips and sweet peas, tied with pink ribbons. The best man was Mr Robert Savigny. and the groomsman Mr Gerald Boock. Later the 80 guests were received at the Crawford Lounge by Mrs Savigny, assisted by Mrs Scott. Mrs Savigny wore a black pin-striped suit and a black and white model straw' hat trimmed with veiling. Her corsage was of white roses and sweet peas. Mrs Scott wore a stone grey ensemble with a white Swiss straw hat with veiling. Pink carnations and maidenhair fern composed her corsage. The bride’s grandmother, Mrs R. E. Lee, of Australia, wore a navy ensemble, beneath a fitch coat, and a blue Bangkok hat and a spray of red roses. The bride’s travelling suit of beige and cinnamon linen, was worn with a hat and accessories to tone.
