CONFERENCE STARTED
DISPOSAL OF ITALIAN COLONIES YEAR TO FIND SOLUTION Rec 8 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 3. The Big Foul' Foreign Ministers’ special deputies began the conference to-day on the disposal of the Italian colonies. Sir Noel Charles (Britain), in welcoming the other deputies, “Mr Bevin is pleased our respective Governments lost no time in arranging these ■ meetings. We have a year to find a solution, and he feels that the sooner the commissioners have their instructions to proceed to make investigations on the spot the better it will be, and more time can be given for discussions when their reports have been made.’’ Sir Charles said he did not foresee any serious difficulty at this stage, and, although November 15 had been mentioned as the date for .the commissioners to leave Britain, there was no reason why they should not leave earlier. Mr Bevin took the view it should be fairly easy to agree on the first necessary details and procedure. The conference conducted its business in camera. ,
