ECUMENICAL COUNCIL TO BE REORGANISED , DECISION OF CONFERENCE Rec. 8.30 p.m. NEW YORK, Oct. 4. Five hundred delegates representing 16 Methodist bodies throughout the world, whose membership totals nearly 13 000,000, attended a nine-day ecumenical conference at Springfield, Massachusetts. Officials announced a plan to change the structure of the Ecumenical Council “in order to end AngloSaxon domination,” they said. Delegates voted in favour of reorganising the present eastern and western sections. of the council to 24 individual sections, which would follow both geographical and denominational lines The sections of the reorganised council would include representatives of countries ranging from Britain, Continental Europe, Africa Australia and New Zealand to the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean.
