Clutha River. —For the week ended August 1, the dredge, operating at Alexandra, worked 114 hours and recovered 2150 z of gold. Associated Gold Dredges.—The return for the week ended August 2 was 1370 z from 91,610 yards in 377 yours.

Poultry: A good demand exists for table poultry; prices ex our store during this week were as follows —light White Leghorn hens. 5s to 6s per pair; heavy White Leghorn hens, 6s to 8s per pair; Black Orpington and similar breeds, 8s to 12s per pair; White Leghorn roosters, 4s to 5s per pair; White Leghorn cockerels, small 4s to 6s per pair, heavy 6s to 9s per pair; ducks, 5s to 8s per pair; geese, 8s to 12s per pair; turkeys—young birds to Is 6d lb, older birds Is to Is 3d lb, live weights; fowl crates for consignors’ use free on application. Wanted urgently; Onions, separator butter, honey; table potatoes—Sutton Supreme, Inverness Favourite, Arran Banner, and Arran Chief at Government prices. We have small stocks of buttermilk powder, Partridge peas, oyster grit, pullet and chick grit, cod liver oil. black leaf 40, molasses. New season’s cluckfood now available in 1701 b. 1001 b, 501 b and 251 b bags. We have several brands of meatmeal; occasional supplies of oat dust and Farrofood, No 2 standard poultry, also chicken mash, available in nonrationed quantities; wheaten and oaten baled straw clover and ryegrass hay, also packing hay; egg payments weekly; agents for local, also Australian egg pulp.
