ISOLATED COASTAL SHOWERS The following official weather forecast covering the ensuing 24 hours was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation.—There is a depression crossing the South Island and an anti-cyclone is moving on to the Tasman Sea. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Moderate to fresh winds from a southerly quarter, weather mainly fair to cloudy apart from isolated coastal. showers; temperatures cold. Further Outlook. —Fair. Weather in Dunedin. —Yesterday was warm, although overcast, in Dunedin until towards evening, when it became colder. Rain fell during the night, several heavy showers being experienced. Thirty minutes of sunshine were recorded. The following were the .respective temperatures:—Maximum, 60.0 deg; minimum, 49.0 deg; grass minimum, 44.9 deg. After having reached a low level about noon, the barometer was rising -steadily, and at midnight the reading was 29.92 ins (1013 millibars).” ..
