LONDON, May 26.

Cars at the rate of 25,000 an hour from north, south, east and west are pouring back into London to-night with Whitsun holidaymakers, who enjoyed the break with almost unbroken sunshine. Trains are arriving packed to capacity, and London’s main-line stations are crowded with a dusty, sunburned throng returning from the coast and the country. Whitsun was warmer than in 1946. with the highest temperatures of 75 degrees in London and Southend There were heavy attendances at sports meetings.
