RECORD PROFIT REPORTED P.A. AUCKLAND. May 26. The Colonial Sugar Refining Company, Ltd., Sydney, reports a record net profit of £1.163.473 for the year ended March 31, and proposes to restore the year’s dividend to 8J per cent., the rate last paid in 1944. Net earnings are struck after providing £420,268 for depreciation, compared with £426,824, and a rise of £276,175 over last year’s The dividend of 34s a share (final 18s) requires £299,500, and £50.000 is transferred to reserve, leaving £118,973 to increase undivided profits to £364,315.
